Medical Weight Management with GLP‑1 and GIP Medications
Get Well Concierge offers clinician‑directed medical weight management for eligible adults. Depending on your medical history, treatment goals, and insurance coverage, your care plan may include FDA‑approved GLP‑1 and GIP medications used for weight management or type 2 diabetes, or compounded options when clinically appropriate and consistent with current regulations. Treatment decisions are made by a licensed clinician after a full evaluation, not by marketing offers.
Our telehealth model includes personal virtual consultations where a clinician reviews your health history, current medications, and prior treatment attempts. Together, you’ll discuss potential options, including whether a GLP‑1 or GIP‑based medication is appropriate as part of a broader plan that also emphasizes nutrition, movement, sleep, and long‑term lifestyle changes.
What does the program include?
-
A virtual consultation with a licensed medical provider to review your health history, medications, and goals.
-
An individualized treatment plan, which may include GLP‑1 or GIP‑based medications when clinically appropriate.
-
Follow‑up telehealth visits to monitor your response, adjust the treatment plan, and manage side effects.
Prescription decisions are always based on clinical evaluation. Being seen for a consultation does not guarantee that any specific medication will be prescribed.
What is not included?
-
Laboratory testing (if indicated), which may be billed to insurance or paid out‑of‑pocket depending on your coverage.
-
The cost of any prescription medications themselves. Coverage and copays for FDA‑approved GLP‑1 and GIP medications vary widely by plan, diagnosis, and pharmacy.
-
Pharmacy dispensing and shipping fees, which are set by the dispensing pharmacy and may change over time.
Your clinician and care team can help you understand possible medication options and how to work with your local or mail‑order pharmacy, but Get Well Concierge does not control pharmacy pricing or insurance decisions.
About FDA‑approved GLP‑1 and GIP medications
Medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide are FDA‑approved for specific indications, including type 2 diabetes and, in some cases, chronic weight management in eligible adults. These medications work on hormone pathways involved in appetite regulation and blood sugar control and can support clinically meaningful weight loss when combined with diet, exercise, and behavior change.
Your clinician will determine which, if any, FDA‑approved products (for example, semaglutide or tirzepatide‑based medications) may be appropriate for you, based on approved indications, your health profile, and current guidelines. Not every patient will qualify for or be a good candidate for these medications.
Important information about compounded GLP‑1 medications
In some situations, and only when clinically appropriate and permitted by current law, your clinician may consider compounded GLP‑1 medications dispensed by licensed compounding pharmacies. Compounded GLP‑1 medications:
-
Are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
-
Are not the same as FDA‑approved branded GLP‑1 medications.
-
Have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality in the same way as approved drugs.
Any decision to use a compounded medication is made on a case‑by‑case basis, when a clinician determines that an FDA‑approved product is not suitable or available for a particular patient.
